In Love with a Memory

In Love with a Memory

A Poem by R. Ellison
"

Just me thinking about things.

"
I've fallen.
Deeper than i could ever swim
sinking into the oblivion of my mind
of my heart

I'm Jealous.
Lying awake wondering why
Why i let that moment slip, watching it float past
to disperse

I'm Happy.
Overjoyed at happiness found
Between two friends who became the best of lovers
not to part

I'm Confused.
Attempting to reconcile
The hole in my heart for the blossoming wonder
of pure love

I'm Alone.
Willing myself to hope, knowing
That hope will never bloom. It is a shade of what
cannot be

Giving up.
Letting go, refusing to quit.
And yet feeling that you will never truly live
without her.

Love of Friends
Matters more than my happiness.
A strength or a weakness, i know not; but this is me.
For true love.

Ah, brain drain poems are so therapeutic, aren't they?

I really like the way you structured it, especially how the first lines are all 3 syllables. May I ask who it's about?
