Stars Lined with Darkness

Beautiful boy

With eyes so sad

Hear my voice

Listen to my words:

"Alone and empty

Looking at the stars

Finding who you believe you are. 

Oh, this world deceives you.

See, 

These scars do anything but define you.

Sorrow fills you inner walls.

When I look into your eyes,

I see glimpses of her.

Her jaded words that cut you like knives.

The coldness enveloped within her eyes.

She harmed you with words,

Why not harm yourself for being anything but what she desired?

But I tell you now,

The words that seem to chill you to the bone,

She's nothing.

Tell me beautiful boy,

Does it scare you to know your soul is gone forever?"

It's sad depressive poems like these that just make me relate to so much... I don't know maybe it's coz I'm a bit deeply depressed lately.

It's about a boy who falls in love with a girl who emotionally abuses him so he turns to self-harm as an outlet because he loved her and she didn't want him..kinda gloomy lol

I like the conversation in the poem. I had a few like this one when I was station in Monterey. The bay brought people with the desire to find peace and purpose. Last line was very good. Allowed the reader to want to know more. No weakness in the excellent poetry.
