Celestial Embrace

Celestial Embrace

A Poem by Missy Lorraine

Last night

I looked up at the stars and thought of you.

The galaxies and constellations shifted,

slowly forming your perfect face among the flickering suns.

Your eyes twinkled in the night sky,

your lips sweetly smiling down at me.

Placing a cosmic kiss upon my cheek,

my eyes stung inevitable with tears of pent-up longing.

I could feel the gentle pressure of you warm hand enveloping mine

as I stretched my hand toward the universe.

My heart began to ache for your embrace,

so I prayed"I begged"to join you in the heavens.

My eyes squeezed tightly shut,

my arms and heart wide open to you,

you pressed your strong body against mine,

and joy filled my heart.

The Earth gradually fell from beneath my feet

and I knew my wish had been granted.

All my fear, loneliness, and worry disappeared,

shedding from my body and mind-

like leaves from a tree in the fall-

to the blue expanse below.

All that was left"

All that mattered"

was you"and me

Dancing amongst the nebulae

in an eternal celestial embrace.

Well dam. Not too bad for a rough draft. I like the flow, I like the emotion, and I like the originality. I do not care for the end of this part "I could feel the gentle pressure of you warm hand enveloping mine
as I stretched my hand toward the universe-
toward you." Not positive why but it looks off to me. All together another great piece with plenty of potential.
