Breaking Hearts

Breaking Hearts

A Poem by Missy

My heart-

My heart is breaking,

Breaking into twos, threes, fours,

Shredding into tiny pieces,

Too unimportant to put together again,

My heart is breaking,

Breaking into fives, sixes, sevens,

Sending pains down my soul,

Ruining the small part of goodness.

My heart-

My heart was destroyed,

Not by a man or a woman,

But destroyed by me.

Caring too much for others,

And not enough for me,

Helping their minds

And forgetting mine.

My heart-

My heart is breaking,

Shredding into eights, nines, tens,

Never to be fully healed,

My heart is breaking,

And nobody cares to even look at all its broken pieces,

But then I forgot to care too.
