A Poem by Ana B.

I wonder if each man has known

The irreversible alchemy of fear.

Does someone hear the wearied groan

Of the empty vessels we chose to revere?

I wonder if at least sometimes you can hear

My breath’s tired indignation…

Perhaps you do sense it my dear -

My heart’s tender hesitation…

I wonder if someone, somewhere has found

The cracks in immortality…

Or is this life completely about

the highlights of the alacrity’s triviality?

Can’t be…

haha thanks Falcon :)
I love the message; speaks to seeing reality for what it is and not just revering false idols. Question whether anyone has actually escaped conformity.

'Or is this life completely about the highlights of the alacrity’s triviality? Can’t be…

(Intriguing P.S: for some reason it makes me smile.. maybe i should ask you if I'm supposed to!) .

Questions create a strange language, depending perhaps on how we word them. Seems here your instincts are at play; you know but are still discovering exactly how 'things' should look, just as your perceptions of life is. Perhaps? As always your writing is stylish, your word usage more than fine.

I truly admire your work. Nuff said.
Dang! Short poem, but really hits hard :) The words you used to rhyme with each other were incredible! This poem doesn't look like a generic poem anyone would write, it looks special :) Excellent job!

That's an awesome review. Thank you Peyton :)
There is the routine mundanity of life; the day to day programmed blueprint that we are. And then of course, there is that so much more, the what we know, without really knowing how we know; the heart as opposed to the head.

The last verse in particular, is sublime in my view.

Thank you for the wonderful words Beccy :)
Sounds like a poem concerning the short amount of time we are granted in Life. Then again I could be misinterpreting this poem, lol.

Still, I think it's a wonderful poem that is both philosophical and intellectual simultaneously.

Another poem that I have greatly enjoyed perusing. Good work, Ana. :)

"The irreversible alchemy of fear"
Quite a thoughtful write, which leaves me pondering over your words..

I especially liked this last part:
"Or is this life completely about
the highlights of the alacrity’s triviality?"
Some point there. Deep! I liked reading this 👍

You're welcome, Ana! 😇
Certainly food for thought in this piece as it begs questions about existence itself. The protagonist is injected in person into the piece offering inviting the reader to look more closely at them. Alchemy of fear is an interesting concept; to purify fear, distil it down to its base components has shades of mystical, magical and religious concepts.
