Honk the Horn!

Honk the Horn!

A Poem by Moflo

Empty eyes await a word,
Something to establish me.
They know I'm good, or so I speak
When telling of how far I'd reach,
But all they see is that I wait,
I wait, I wait, I contemplate,
I ponder, think, and hesitate.
They stare, and still I sit and dream,
Dazing in the driver's seat.

They scream: "Why don't you just honk the horn?
If we were in your spot we would!
It seems so simple, where's the wait?
Others honked the horn before
And that horn's sound has traveled great
Distance, reaching near and far,
The echoes remain to this date!
Lean forward and honk the horn
And show us beauty in its form!"

But what they never seem to grasp,
What the WORLD can't seem to grasp,
is I don't wish to honk the horn;
I wish to drive the car.

Ha. I love it. =) Very true. Nice rhythm and rhyme, as can always be expected with your stuff, and your endings are always the best. =) Very good stuff.

LMAO!!!

you are indeed a poet! well done!

however, my evil twin [yes, a gemini] a.d.o.r.e.s. the horn and will blast the poet right out of her reverie and off the road, probably sideswipe the offender and wave one finger in the rearview. [jk!] ;)

enjoyed this!

Yet another brilliant write. Such as the world we live in, always in a hurry, too quick to move and get on with it-those who drive on honking the horn, irritable and irrational without even having a sense of direction of their own let alone the ability to navigate to where they'd like to take us within their stories.

I have had a number of friends who lacked the patience and fortitude to sit and write to express emotion or simply depicting a scene, either they had no interest in or was simply doing it to pass a course. As writers ourselves we have honed that creative patience and we roll with each bend and curve in the road leisurely allowing the story to take us as we take on the story, ever patient-especially when we get to those crossroads where we have to decide where we are going next; shall we be the one honking in back rushing to get through it so its done and risk getting lost, or shall we patiently wait until we realize which direction will lead us toward our intended destination? A writer/poet knows the answer to that question.

Well penned :)

Hehehe, this was wonderful. I very much like:
"I wait, I wait, I contemplate,
I ponder, think, and hesitate.
They stare, and still I sit and dream,
Dazing in the driver's seat."

Maybe we're meant to attract attention so we can spread the word, words. We draw back curtains to show our world, lure people, welcome them and, if they don't understand well, tis their loss! Your write is, as ever, cleverly put, you create fine phrases, 'and still I sit and dream, ~ Dazing in the driver's seat.' Perhaps if one or few of the visitors sit tight, you'll actually slide into the driving seat ..
