Grasping

Grasping

A Poem by RFDIII
"

A lover whose love was lost makes a choice.

"

Just stop.
There's nothing left -
to hang on to.
The remnants
turn to dust.

Full stop.
Our tendrils,
intertwined to
combine,
align,
on time,
to end with us.

Nothing more,
Nothing less!

Nothing sore,
Nothing blessed.

In the dust, there once was.
In the knots, strangled love.

Author's Note

RFDIII
In the wake of your lover's death...
Would you listen to condolences, and travail?
Or would you fall... and gladly fail?

This is word by word perfect.
Your structure lends itself to your thoughts.
I am very impressed.
I cannot pick out a fav line--there are too many---and they are woven together in such a whole.
Bravo!

A direct and powerful poem. When there is no hope. Hard to see the light or positive in a new day. I like the way you led the reader to the sad ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poem.
