Why Do I Question?

Why Do I Question?

A Poem by MomzillaNC

Questions and questions and questions

Changing moments, days, and years

Human existence is change…

But to ever what purpose?

Ahhh… the questions, always seeking

Seeking the answers, finding questions

What is my purpose?

What should be my plan?

Where shall I go?

Who can help me understand?

Why do I ask the questions?

Why do they plague my mind?

Every question is an offered path.

Each answer is the road taken.

As the chrysalis holds the secret

Of the worm’s metamorphosis,

So every riddle spoken holds

The answer to my queries.

While I breathe, I think… I ponder,

Forming catechisms of every aspect

of this life… then and now and when…

Living, growing, always in this

Always never ending inquisition…

This interrogatory examination of Life.

Questions and questions and questions…

Changing moments, days, and years…

Human existence is change…

Evolution is Life.

But…

Changes bring questions.

When I have no more questions,

I know, it only will ever be because

I no longer have breath to ask them.

As the chrysalis holds the secret
Of the worm’s metamorphosis,
So every riddle spoken holds
The answer to my queries.

A very beautiful and elegant spiritual write. I keep wondering when will this caterpillar become a butterfly.

If you are interested a related tanka I did way back when.

Careful! Thinking is where all those questions came from! :D
I ask these same questions. What is my purpose?
What should be my plan?
Where shall I go?
Who can help me understand?
Why do I ask the questions?
Why do they plague my mind?
I always ask myself, "Why do I question everything that goes around me?" and well now I know the answer. And I guess that questioning healthy to the mind; it makes us wiser and alert...that is just my take on this.
The question that I ask the most is “What is what God wants me to do? For there must be a reason to why I am still here.”

Thank you. I too have found that answers lead to more questions.
questions! its what we do best, I read once that its not till we know the answers that we understand all the questions but that's from eastern wisdom so really our western minds don't really comprehend how that works i guess, although you may know better......do you ? sorry could'ent resist a question :)

I only know answers lead to more questions.
An interesting writing. I was brought up in a house were both of my parents loved to read but it was only at school that the love for imaginative thinking began. The first time we enacted Perceval the issue of questions came o the fore. Jung said: It is a bewildering thing in human life that the thing that causes the greatest fear is the source of the greatest wisdom. One’s great-est foolishness is one’s biggest stepping stone. No one can become a wise man without being a terrible fool. Perceval managed at the second time to ask the right question and gain an insight into the grail.

So I have grown accustomed to search and wonder.

I adhere to this writing as it is a feeling that I can relate to.

Thankyou
