A poem about the seconds and heartbeats of Death, Life, and Love.

Seconds

Tic-tic, tic-tic, tic-tic

Tic-tic goes the clock

running down the days

draining away in hours

lives winding down

to ends of reckoning

Tic-tic, tic-tic, tic-tic

Tic-tic goes the clock

troubles in our ways

relieved by dancing hours

Life’s clock unwound

Death’s embrace beckoning

Tic-tic, tic-tic, tic-tic

Tic-tic goes the clock

with the music sways

moments like dancing flowers

heart rhythms pound

Love’s embrace welcoming

Tic-tic, tic-tic, tic-tic

I like the tempo of this and your rhyme scheme was brilliant. This was so much fun to read.

Thanks so much!
I can hear its repetition...tic-tic, tic-tic. They are ever fleeting as they go...leaving a reverberation behind. Close your eyes, the sound lingers. Awesome presentation.
