What to say

What to say

A Poem by Mr Whiskers

...What to write when I don't know what to say
So many different words coming out the same way
I feel hurt and a bit shocked
Hollowed and yearning--my world is rocked
I want to reach out, at the same time be strong
Whether I seem weak or impervious, both are wrong
I am vulnerable to yo ulike stone walls to weather
Worn, smoothed planes from your placid and disaster
Lonely in this aching way I've only ever read of
The empty itching swirling burning because you're the one I love
We belong at each others sides, each others hearts at best
But here we are, not as we should be, allowing me no rest
My soul is fighting, my heart screaming, my brain too stunned to know
What can I write or say or be-- what if you choose to go?

This is all well-written and you did a good job of making me empathize with the speaker. But I have to say that more than anything, I enjoyed the comparison of not actually being weak / impervious to a stone wall and rain. I wouldn't think of a stone wall as weak and it might be better off as just impervious, but I thought that was very clever.
