Express, but Don't Feel

Express, but Don't Feel

A Poem by Mrs MelRose

Express, but Don’t Feel

How can you tell about a feeling

That has never been yours

How can you tell about a cave

That you never went to explore

Capturing the emotion

And expressing it too

When in the deepest part of your mind

It has never happened to you

How closely you feel another’s pain

How many tears you feel you’ve cried

To where you start to wonder

What pain is hidden inside

Empathy is your pain in my heart

And all pain hurts the same

So when telling an unknown feeling

All you really change is the name
