Capricious fallen leaves and paper planes;
Untold reveries of bygone aeons,
aweigh on incessant flux of inanes,
Vagrant, infirm, impelled onto junctions
as distrait laity anent of icons.
netting nullity to axis of woe,
Intrinsic venture to apex solo
Absolute course of extant since entry
'fore deific grip of fate all forgo,
To wonted undercroft; shores of Lethe.
I see the journey of humanity unfolding over billions of years, its up and downs, its heroes and villains. Fate also is playing a role in your summarized history. I also take this wonderful poem to see the similarities between fallen leaves and a fallen humanity, its mass atrocities and some periods of peace. Humans can be builders and destroyers, inventors and stagnant in mind. Whoa Mrudula...

Thank you dear Sami for your appreciation, I value immensely your assessment . All the best .
The quote you included at the start, when paired with the final line, makes me think of death as the home we are all walking each other towards. I suppose that is, indeed, our ultimate destination, and as such, perhaps regarding each other as companions on this varied and glorious journey is a much better way of looking at human relations than through an antagonistic lens.
It is so easy to become focused on the areas where we differ and forget our shared humanity. Your message offers a counterpoint to the negativity that permeates so much of our public discourse just now. To my mind, anyway.
I do enjoy your philosophical offerings, Mrudula. I always think when visiting your page. Your vocabulary choices alone offer a veritable mind feast. Hope you are well there and had a lovely holiday season with your family. A happy new year to you!

I always wished that you should write stories as well besides your elegant poetry, your calm, analytical capacity will Lead you easily towards that venture.
it is in a way comforting to know that we are not alone on this journey... however long it is.
Thank you for New Year wishes and for a lovely review.

Your language, your sight of the day to day over and through time, creates a magic of its own. You subtly but clearly, paint a unique vision, don''t you!

Holy smokes did we just write of the same thing simultaneously? I like your cave painting better Mrudula:) I am gobsmacked and frozen in typing as I keep rereading this, well it sounds rather silly to say so... but I agree with you wholeheartedly! Dear god I love your use of language I am so grateful to be able to witness them... Untold reveries of bygone aeons, aweigh on incessant flux of inanes, these are synaptic boom lines:)
