Implications: A Long Standing Affair

Implications: A Long Standing Affair

A Screenplay by Lady M
"

Sometime after midnight in a crowded martini bar. Man comes and sits down across from a woman when her date gets up to use the restroom.

"
Man: "I'd walk you home myself if it weren't for this storm."

Woman: "I wouldn't make you."

"That sounds like you're implying I could if I wanted to."

"My dear you search for implications where there aren't any."

"Correction, I hope for implications where there aren't any."

"You create them with thin air."

"It's rather a talent of mine."

"I know. You put them behind my lips and between my teeth before the thought even occurs to my brain."

"Do you enjoy it?"

"I don't know why you feel the need to ask."

"Isn't it obvious? It's the satisfaction of hearing you say it out loud."

"It is, yes. But I enjoy the feeling I get when I refuse to give you that satisfaction. I only do it if it can be whispered."

"I do love it when you whisper."

"Always. It chills us both. Will you be up late?"

"Of course."

"I fear I may have somehow managed to persuade myself in your favor."

"Oh?"

"Perhaps."

"Elaborate?"

"All this talk, it's deliciously frustrating. My neck is tingling."

"I'm not doing my job then, you should be tingling everywhere darling."

"Evidently not. Right now it's just this little spot on my neck and the skin behind my right ear."

"I love that spot."

"It's strange because I can almost feel breathe there right now. I can feel you in my collarbone."

"Must be terribly frustrating."

"Oh, it is."

"You need to make sure there is breathe there at all times."

"Sadly you're sitting over there."

"Hmmm... it sounds like you need immediate assistance."

"I may."

"You may?"

"I may. There is a certain gentlemen I would like to roughhouse with beyond these premises, though I am unsure if he would be so kind as to wait for me to finish my dinner."

"That quite possibly sounds ideal."

"Possibly?"

"Possibly. Where did you want to roughhouse with said gentlemen?"

"Here, there, anywhere."

"When you say anywhere... It gives me ideas."

"Does it? And I would like said gentlemen to know that I have means of transportation."

"Noted on the transportation bit. And yes, it does."

"Now I must ask you to elaborate."

"Elaborate on what?"

"Don't play coy."

"It implies the option of getting creative."

"I caught the implication you took from that, though my curiosity wonders where you are thinking."

"No location yet, I don't get ideas until the implication has been made a reality. I try not to get too terribly far ahead of myself."

"It would depend on how enticing said location would be to my appetite."

"I'm not entirely sure."

"Again, speaking of implications, the word "entirely" implies that you may be partly sure of at least a few possibilities already."

"Well, when you spoke of transportation, your car immediately crossed my mind."

"Are you that impatient?"

"Yes."

"Well, I do think my car is for warmer weather, it's a bit too cold."

"Everything's a bit too cold for you."

"And here I thought you liked it that way."

"Oh, but you know that I do, and here I thought you liked it hot."

"Oh, but you know that I do."

"I've finished my dinner."

"I'll be at your place in five minutes."

"Sounds fine, bring something chilly with you."

"Vodka?"

"I'm glad you caught the implication, I'll loose the baggage and be right behind you."

"I'm glad you caught the implication."

"Perfect."

Author's Note

Lady M
I may go back in and make this read more like a book, not sure...
I need to fix the ending.
It's a bit rocky, but it's my first dialog.
