A Poem by Atsa Biyaazh

The calamity witnessed by the eyes
Of humanity
Devastates and extinguishes
The scale of atrocity
We turn a cheek to youth mortality
No longer fluent in human morality
Our seeds grow broken
The lack of strength in our language
No longer spoken
An intricate web of pain woven
From the time Mother Earth had a price
And was raped and stolen
You call it God's Will
I call it Pure Evil
Mentally spiritually ill
You left my People to swallow that repetitive pill
Of self hate, addicted to lies and half spoken truth
Spiritually disabling elders
Mentally poisoning the youth
Pledge allegiance to what?
A system, a people that sought to kill my culture
Disguised as an eagle but just a cowardly VULTURE.
