others are a bright flash bang in the eyes of their fans.

To say he died too young
is only imagining that he may have had more to do on this earth.

I greatly enjoyed this tribute poem to the man.

oh my! so many worked to be his brand of cool .... spent hours try to get slick back and "flip" just right ... it wasn't easy ;) we can not help but wonder what would have been accomplished by James and all those who die way too young ... even in the womb that same "potential" exists ... its an undeniable unanswered question eh!? excellent write...such a mystique he had...you capture it in few words...as he was one of few words.

I googled his death, and learned a lot about his car, "the Porsche 550 Spyder". It seems it was cursed, and caused accidents to those who ever came in contact with it. The scene of the crime was also re-enacted, and it was proven that Dean wasn't the one speeding, as once believed. Go look it up, I'm sure you'll find it. I found it quite interesting to read.

i had heard about the car being cursed...yes...a very tragic death, he was so young.

Writing about an American icon must have been fun. You know, I have never seen any of his films, but I've heard so many songs profiling Dean, categorizing him as not just a star but a brand. A quote from one of his movies is one of my favorites: "Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die today."

I must admit, there is only one icon I truly enjoy writing about - and that's Marilyn! There was just something ultimately "cool" about JD, that when you saw him on the screen, it came through. His death was such a tragedy though...like most who were taken way before their time. Many thanks, Dan!
