Bathtub Poetry

Bathtub Poetry

A Poem by Kelly Scheppers

bathtub poetry

love drenched words

and a bottle of pinot noir

exasperate salted wounds,

regurgitating unfinished verses

of bathtub poetry.

If that's where you find your inspiration perhaps I should give up my showers and start soaking in the tub! I enjoyed this one. I generally get my inspirations late at night or in the early hours of morning for some reason. My insomnia seems to drive my muse. Great write. F.

Cheers to you, and thank you for the visit!
Excellent Kelly - lovely wit-filled brevity in five pithy lines - some might even call this a Tanka :) 'salted wounds' so appropriate and spot on. Here's to more excellent 'bathtub poetry'.

Thank you most kindly, Tony!
I think water is healing to the sensitive and poetic - salted wounds are quite communicative in the right circumstances :) Beautiful as always dear Kelly...

Your kindness overflows my heart, every time. Thank you dear Poppy!
Though I can appreciate the sentiment behind the idea of bathtub poetry I don't think I could ever partake of it. I'm a SHOWER GUY! To say the least it would be difficult to write while in the shower.
Take care - Dave

A Great Title! And Well, and Aptly, written.
I enjoy bathtub-writing myself, so If ever you add more verses, please let me know!

...thanks so much, Dylan!
Nothing like a good warm soak with a glass of wine to calm the spirits, I prefer Pino Grigio. Lovely images describe this scene. I guess you can really express your emotions, the wine helps! nice Brevity poem.

You are very welcome!
Many times our words are repeating and we can find a way to express the thought or emotions which we feel or think.

I gravitate towards poets that I like their poetry in general but always reading new ones as well.
How acute. The imagery is articulated and so succinctly.
