Through My Eyes

Through My Eyes

A Poem by Cassiopia Summers
"

Thanks to Martina McBride's single "In My Daughter's Eyes" I have written this song for my Ma. <3 ya Ma (:

"
Since the day of my birth I have been your miracle,
intelligent,
nice,
well-mannered,
overall, perfect.

As a toddler I was the twinkle in your eyes,
always making your heart smile,
giving you hope and strength,
helping you through a life without dad.
Through my eyes you gave me strength.

Being a teenager is simple.
I love to amaze you with things such as this.
I love to watch you with your one true love,
hoping one day I'll have the same thing.
Through my eyes you gave me wings.

Though someday soon I'll be all grown-up, I want you to recall you,
whispered life into me,
revealed things I had never seen,

helped me create My Dreams.
Through my eyes you gave me the Breathe of Life.

That nearly brought a tear to my eye... I lost my mom 4 years ago and she is who I credit for being the person I am so reading this wonderful tribute to your mom warmed my heart, especially seeing that these days so many don't give respect to their parents.

Beauty held in simplicity... I almost wish I was your mom... (although that sounds kinda weird...) I'd be really proud

This is very sweet and I like how you did it. It conveys a lot in just a few short words.

I can relate to this poem. I can tell from the first stanza your talking to a parent then when I got to the second stanza it reveals dad moving out of your life. From that I think this is for a mother. I think she would feel pleased and proud to hear this read to her. My dad left me when I was 7 and I never saw him again until I was 12. My mother has always worked hard for me. I would probably thank her one day by writing a peaceful write like this.

A great write in recognition of what your mom has given you and to recognize it is a great thing. It is beautiful for its meaning and how it was formed from birth until now. A great write keep it as it is.

Ohhh...It's so precious! I love it the way it is, too! Don't change it. (I love Martina McBride!) ;p
