The Monster Within Me

Feeling like you're about to crack and not knowing what will spew out

I feel monster deep within me,

Longing to be free.

A force of infinite power,

Itching to make the whole world cower.

 

This monster deep inside

Yearns to make you run and hide.

To crush and crumble

Anyone who gives me trouble.

 

I feel a monster deep within me.

It’s fighting to break free.

This, I know to be fact, not myth,

It’s a force to be reckoned with.

 

Not a day goes by

Where it doesn’t try

To break open the cage and snap it’s chain,

So it may be free to inflict its pain.

 

I feel a monster deep within me.

It’s close to breaking free.

My deepest fear is coming to be

That that monster is really me.

Oh, god, let's hope not! Tell us about this monster. What does it look like? What does it feel? More importantly, what does it want? Can it be reasoned with or does it reason with an insane logic known only to it's kind? What will you do if that's the case? Destroy it outright, lock it away and hope it never escapes or perhaps just try and run away?

This sounds a lot like bottled up aggression hidden behind a smile...lots of passive aggression getting to the breaking point where you feel the fibers of the threads of your patience finally starting to fray and detach to the point where you become detached.
