Afraid I'll Fall Alone

Afraid I'll Fall Alone

A Poem by Jock Engelman

This feeling is beyond fear;
More than anything here;
That I will fall alone;
Scared of myself;
Running from everyone else;
Trying to find my own zone;

Can you hate yourself;
More than fate itself?
Because you can't ask for help?

I wonder if self loathing is attributable to writers as a whole. So many of us deal with it.
