THE BRIDGE

THE BRIDGE

A Poem by M.Babu
"

What Life hath Brought Unto you. Life hath Power to Undo.”

"

On a dark, dark bridge,

In the midst of night.

Two figures stood,

Fates Intertwined.

One a new Father,

Alight with Life.

The other a Widower,

Overcome by Strife.

“My Congratulations”

Mr. Strife dulled,

Suddenly beckoned

By the River’s slosh.

“Thanks, kind Sir”

Mr. Life returned,

Gaze transfixed,

But by his watch.

“Got’ta get back

To the Fam’.”

Life smiled,

Turning away.

“Just do me this,”

Pleaded Strife,

Looking up

Desp’rately.

“Hold them tight,

NEVER let go!!

Show your love;

Respect also.

What Life hath

Brought

Unto you.

Life hath

Power to

Undo.”

Life Mulled on this,

For a second or two.

Nodded briefly,

Then he pursued.

The Hospital Path

Where the Mrs lay.

With a bundle of joy,

In the Nursery

Strife Alone on

Fate’s Old Bridge.

Hoping Life would

Heed his binge.

As the Deep Waters,

Called him Forth.

The Stage of Strife

Curtailed in

Froth.

Wow. I really love how you write. Very unique here. Deep and makes me think. =) The picture sets the feeling already. I like that it fits your poem. Nice advice in this piece. Life is too short. We need to cherish life as much as we can even with the bad, we need to keep moving forward and keep our head high. =D This was quite inspirational. Thank you for writing this. Simply wonderful. I love these lines the most:

"What Life hath

Brought

Unto you.

Life hath

Power to

Undo.”

The pic at the beggining really sets the stage for the poem. This poem tells the truth, what life gives can be taken away.
