Green

My color is Green

Can you not see?

I am envious

The jealous type

But that is alright

Because I am also, as pure as the bleak night

I do show thoughtfulness towards others

And because of that,

Simple little fact,

I have many more allies than does blue

The enemy will turn to dust

During the awakening of dusk

Because it is such a gentle competetor

Weak and dull it strives to survive

Our enemy so frail, we oppose it not even as a threat

Blue will fade and deminish

And Green will prevail and relish

Like an old relic,

It will be known forever in history

As the Ruler color of our century!

It may seem fairly straight-forward, but I think the idea of this quite clever and somewhat thoughtful, if not metaphysical in a sense. The colour green as a metaphor of feeling is apt, since it is made up (or can be made up) from other more base colours - those that feel on this base level only are rather unenlightened perhaps as a result. Green, however, has "allies" and as such is shared by many, realistically; having more possibilities and an understanding of how the world works... This can be taken either way, though, very much depending on whether you see yourself as blue or green. And, in terms of the last line, perhaps green is taking over - for better or worse. No black and white. No blue or red.
I really like the use of colours to code feelings or attitudes. Colours have profound meanings to the soul. They are abstract and equivocal in their representations, but just as feelings are. A symbolic and evocative piece.
