Love Me

Love Me

A Poem by Sherwin

Ever since the day I laid eyes on you I feel in straight into your love pit
It was puppy love that just grew on you
From all the classes we had together to the little things outside of class
And everything in between
I loved you from day one

From the two years of English classes and days of spelling test and essays in Berda's class
To Biology and Accounting
To Planning ten and your condom demo with that other guy
To days of poetry back in English again
To the hot chocolate still kissing your lips
To copying your behaviour in Social Studies-- even while being the top student for most of the year
To the readings of War Between the classes

I always loved you
I'd always wanted to show you my love for you

From wanting to buy you roses and chocolates
From attempting to see if we are a match
To learning that we are both "orange" personalities

To everything in between
I always loved you
Never knew how to show it
Never had to confidence to show it

Not till university did that come
By then it was too late

I always loved you
I really did
I loved you so much
Even stupidly blind
Down to the dumbest action

I always loved you
I really did
