Race Relation

Race Relation

A Poem by Jemma
"

Just my view on people with diffrent coloured skins.

"

Race Relation

Blood is blood

And we all bleed

We love and hate

And want and need

Colour only goes skin deep

We’re all the same inside

Each with good and evil

Each taking a different stride

We come from different lands

With many different views

If you can not accept this

Take a walk in another’s shoes

Try to grasp the concept

Only judge another’s deed

Because we are all the same

After all, we all bleed

Just my view. I have a lot of "darker" friends and it seems everywhere we go someone is against it. I've been in shopping centres where the security guards would follow us around. People would make sly comments. Dirty looks and abuse from random people, shop owners/employees. I just don't understand it. Is it so weird to see a white chick with a black chick? Why does skin colour have to matter? Just because i'm white doesn't mean I shouldn't be allowed to hang out with someone of a diffrent colour/race. And just because someone is "darker" doesn't mean others have the right to abuse them.

Good job in uniting mankind under one ground. You said it well in simple, poetic words: though we believe differently, we are all the same. Good job in communicating a wise fact in life very clearly.

This is amazing, good job. =] I wish you didnt delet all your other ones tho. But this is still great, and ur totally right, religion-racce-colour should matter.

I don't get it either , but the point is not to get it..not to be those people who have need to use race as a way of feeling superior. perhaps it is all they have but but it still pisses me off as well I could go on a whole diatribe about it.. but for now I will just say thanks.. for being a voice on the subject

I can really relate to this poem, as I also have "darker" friends, as you said.
It is so true and I love the message you're conveying here.
The flow of your poem is very nice and I like the "we all bleed" line a lot.

A brilliant poem here that I agree with totally. Very well written and straight from the heart of a good person.
I agree with your Author's note. It's so unfair for people to judge...but it's just cos of ignorance.....they don't know any better....so..just ignore...hold your head up...and go about your way !!! You HAVE a life....so live it to the full...and enjoy.
Thanks for sharing this with us.

I completely agree! 100%! Just because someone looks different than someone else doesn't mean that they should be treated differently or abused. I hate it when people do that and it will begin to get on my nerves. I just stick up for them if they start getting picked on and abused and stuff like that. I let them know that I care about them and that I'm there for them. I love this poem too!!!!!!!

That's right we all bleed red... I have 4 best friend and all of different color and it don't stop us from enjoying life to the fullest, hard to believe in this day and age that prejudice still exists... a powerful message the entire human race should read.
