Victim

Victim

A Poem by Mjr. Tom

Encroaching as ever, death beckons

As his deadly weapon comes closer

Without thought, without will I move closer

Wake me from this, I have only seconds

Frozen in place by the thought of your face

Breath me to life, frighten death, save me

Don't let me die here, for faith and fear

I lack expression, and will for tomorrow

My soul's depth and color slowly darken

With sorrow deep down like a seed it grows

And blooms into seeds and scars

The chords burn into my neck while my

Demons lay and wait to ravage my soul

Death is me, and I'm the victim.
