Dead-Alive

Dead-Alive

A Poem by Najam Us Saher
"

Being away from you is death itself.

"
DEAD-ALIVE
One day, I would be on the ground,
Like a faded fallen leaf,
I would be buried,
Bringing an end to all my griefs.
I feel sorrowful,
When I would leave all my loved ones,
I would be gone,
Leaving them in woe and tears.
Will they miss me then?
Will they know my value?
Will they realise I was good?
Or will they forget me saying I am gone.
It's an eternal truth,
Death is what will part us,
I cannot even hide my tears from myself,
I am alive today,
But being away from you is death itself.

Great job! I love the metaphor you used about faded leaf and death, but relating this about life and love. Thank you for submitting for all about love contest!

A poem about death has never been so beautiful. Your metaphor about the faded leaf being buried made for great imagery. Another great poem!

I am glad I was able to do so. Thank you for reading :)
Very good. The title reminded me of the movie Dead-Alive directed by Peter Jackson. A very violent but funny as hell zombie movie, lol.

I enjoyed the darkly sad nature of this poem.

Thank you :)
Another good read you have a great talent for wordplay In how you make most rhymes hold a significance.

I am not fond of thinking on my inevitable end however that does not mean I don't.

Sometimes I'm just staring at the ceiling and think "I'm going to be gone one day... Will anyone cry, will anyone remember me?"

I have written on the topic of death and life being finite before as well and I feel the more I write about it the more accepting I am about the thing all people share.

Thank you :)
Very compassionate poem once again!
This poem feels as if it's speaking on the topic of suicide, and it really correlates with both the fears and wonders of death.

Yeah that's true. I also wanted to express the fallen leaf a metaphor for ignorance. But I couldn't.
What got me in this is your last line. It gave me many thoughts of missing those I have see depart this earth. Nice write. Valentine
