mountain

mountain

A Poem by Natasha

i was there when the rain poured down your face
and when time pulled your hair, you were gone in a trace
you sat like a lion trapped in a cage
nowhere to run and eyes full of rage
your past she is haunted your future is laced
your song in my head is all that i had
and your hands they were cold and your eyes they lay sad
you were a mountain
and i was a plain
gazed up at you but your views dark with rain
i pretended to notice the things that werent there
and i tried to believe that maybe you care
you were a book
and i just a page
lacking a title
just holding your space.
