A Poem by supernova_thoughts

I thought I was over him
I thought the place
Is okay being empty
I thought its past the breaking point
And nothing
I state ‘Nothing’
On the way will break me

But then I saw you
Not ‘You’ you
But someone like you
Resembling your aura
Your stance
Your posture
Your face
Not too much
Neither too less
It was just enough
To tear all my stiches again

I looked at your look alike
And imagined how it would be
If you were here till now
If you were with me
I saw him
And it hit me
I was never over you
And I’ll never be
‘Cause you are a part of me
My very being is made of you
I am you and you’re me
Till I live
You exist

So then I ran out
And stood alone
Hiding my tears
And holding my heart
Crying and breathing
Stopping and seeing
Searching him as if I found you

But I knew
I long lost you.

I realized I cannot let you go
From my heart or my soul
‘Cause you’re precious to me
My Dad
You are precious to me.

I was very close to my dad as well, more so than my mother and when he died, I lost my father, my mentor, a part of me. I'm glad I got many of his genes! Your poem is heart wrenching to me in a beautiful way, because I can relate so well. I painted him and I look at it often and think back to the close relationship we had. I understand and empathize.
Best, B

I lost my dad five years ago and still miss him like crazy.
I feel this poem...I know someone who reminds so much of my dad it is scary, but comforting at the same time.

True. It's just you took a lot of time making yourself comfortable. And suddenly this happens.
Sometimes getting it all out is the catharsis needed to mend the heart. Hope it is that way for you SN

Hi! I'll leave it to my writings to define me. more..

TS might not be Frost or Eliot but combined with Nix they made music. Perhaps another colab?...
