Numb

Numb

A Poem by Sam

It's gone

All emotion.....

Lost...

Never to be found...

Stuck in the darkness

I'm all alone

My heart is frozen

I'm cold..

My hands are shaking

All I feel

Is weight...

On my shoulders,

From the world

The pressure is astounding

It's funny

I have you

Yet I feel alone

I'm numb...

Waiting for you to come save me...

To wrap your arms around me

And kill the pain inside me

The sum has now doubled

Loneliness is the cause

It stabs at my gut

Terrorizes my heart

Blood spills on the floor

But I couldn't care less...

If I died right here

I wouldn't feel it

That's the beauty of it

Of being numb

You could die

And get what you want

The benefit of it

Is it'd be painless

The question is...

Is it worth it?

Your mind answers that

Yes, and why?

Because your worthless

Just do it and be done with it

You won't regret it

Give it a try

Let me prove it

Put a gun to your head

Pull the trigger

And I promise you...

You won't feel it.

One of the worst things in the world is to feel alone in a sea of people. Never feeling loved. Wanting something but pushing it away because it can't be possible, it ISN'T possible. Everything is impossibly gone and all is left is the raw loneliness, making a heart ache.

This poem made those memories of loneliness resurface in my mind, which I know that I will never forget. Loneliness is such a potent entity and threatens to haunt us. You really portrayed how powerful it really is through short, simple phrases and the emotion in here. I really do hope your loneliness goes away.
You have so much, okay? We are here for you. Message me if you feel like talking.

Thanks!
True. Loneliness not only alters behaviour, it can be a killer. Well, maybe not kill us, but it can definitely negatively impact our mentality. The unpleasant feeling of emptiness or desolation is debilitating it could bring us to the verge of insanity. This is a highly emotional write. I liked it.

Damn . . . I hope you don't feel this way now. I agree with E.V. Black--this brought back memories of youth for me too. My childhood wasn't something I wanted to recall, but this poem reminded me of a few close calls myself . . . close calls with sleeping pills. I can tell you, it ain't worth it; suicide never is. It's a coward's way out, and a waste. Despair is no sin; it's just a common mistake.
Trust me, you're never alone
