Stillness

Stillness

A Poem by Kristine

For a while I saw

Someone all alone

Sitting in a chair

Holding a red book

Grasping on to the past

Old toys and memories

Yet no bravery

To face what seemed to be

The present version of the past

Never taking the step

Outside

Inside

Always watching

Never truly living

Someone else wonders

Why he never came

So they sit down

And start grasping on to the past

Mind stuck wondering

Why he never came

Into the future

No steps were made

Always waiting

For bravery to come

For him to come

Your future is not just yours

But everyone elses too

We all share the future

Take a step

And someone else will too

(We are all passively waiting for something,

waiting until we grow old.

Take a step, take a leap!

Make what you are waiting for come to you.)
