the truth behind the lies

i wrote this for my ex. i loved him more than i ever expressed to him. i regret now never telling him

To show you the truth of me
Behind the lie will be nearly impossible.
There is too much hidden.  
Too many lies covering up the truth, too
much to sort out.  

Will you hate me
If I'm gone when you wake up?
That's just like me, I will run away
And hide this, along with the
Others lies.  I'm lying here in your arms and there
Is nothing to cover up the evil I have
hidden myself in.  

As I look at your
sleeping body I wonder if this is
what I want for my life.  And I realise
that yes, it is.  Because if I leave
now I will be leaving my entire life's
happiness on this bed with you.  

I'll just lie my head back on
your chest and listen to the steady
beating of your heart, and
wonder how to tell you the truth
behind the lies.  

I know I can confide
in you.  You will accept me for me.  
With that I'll give my life to you, along
with my soul, and my entire
life's happiness.
