You asked "Where?"

You asked where,

Cause you didn’t understand.

 

You’d never seen this before,

Heard the yelling,

Seen the tears.

 

To be first,

To be more important,

For you to make that choice,

It was my answer,

It was the truth.

 

You cried to,

To know I needed more.

 

Yet nothing changed,

You still don’t get it.

 

To say no to the bar,

The drinking,

The smoking.

And yes to me,

Just being with me,

For tonight.

 

You asked where,

Cause you’d never seen this before.

I lied about the weakness,

But the reason was completely true.

:: oh, this is an infinitely moving heartsong, precious poetess... i can recall a situation in my life when i could've said these same words with a million tears in my eyes... it was never enough for him to "just be with me"... but i do hope and it does seem like there will be a day when he will "understand"...

:: i think sometimes that there were people for whom i did not wait and moved on because the love i felt was not a hundred per cent pure... but in one specific instance... it is... and i find that the love i experience helps me wait... without disintegrating... :: in situations and with people who made me disintegrate to a point that i couldn't take it, i moved on...

Thank you and I'm glad my words and poems can touch others. I, too, can only hope one day he will understand and know that till he can I can't give him all my love. I believe it's never wrong to move on from something that isn't right and there to help you move forward.
