Fondly and Truly

Fondly and Truly

A Poem by Neville

Fondly and Truly

Just because I slowed right down

Does not mean I stopped loving you

I thought I saw you falter

And thought it best to let you go

And truly

As lightly as a feather might

Leave a trace of ache behind

I set you free

But darling every now and then

Occasionally I pray do think of me

Like you would of waterfalls and sunshine

Like you would of lovers past

Fine wines and holidays…

Yes my love

Do think of me fondly

And truly always ...

I can't express how these precious word fell and tugged tightly my heart, I don't need to say anything when Your purest feelings are radiating from Your page like a sparkling stream. yes we women sometimes don't speak what we really want, just waiting desperately with hope for the man to figure it out by his own, and yes many times the man too will step aside giving her space thinking he is doing her good, while the truth is that she wants him near. sharing openly thoughts and feelings can solve it all. hauntingly emotionally moving, one can't but feel it with an aching heart. Bless You my Loving friend Neville✨

I think of you when gentle breezes blow away my Cap...
and I scurry along chasing a song that plays over and over
as though the flower petals were teasing me to stop and
rest by the Creek with frogs and stuff... then I realize...
I never left you at all. gently, Pat

How extraordinarily lovely Pat.. bless you my friend & truly.... Neville :)
I can relate to this. You have to let go sometimes. And it hurts. And you hope they still think of you. Good stuff, Nev.

No new poems from Neville. You must be busy my friend. However it is a delight to revisit this little gem today. Your Fondly and Truly so poignantly conveyed.

Will do and you too :)
Yes, this resonates with I Sir, and not just a little either.
So many times, I thought I saw them falter, only for the thought to make me falter and second guess myself into a frenzy... And then I usually go do something silly and voice my thoughts. Not advisable.
And years pass and thoughts flutter through the mind, and hopefully you smile and hope they do too when thoughts flutter their way too.
A fine write here guvnor and no mistake.
I wonder if those restraining orders have expired now 😀

'Fondly and Truly
Nevelle,
The differences between people are best to be
respected. I like the honesty and caring shown.
"Just because I slowed right down
does not mean I stopped loving you'
"I thought I saw you falter
and thought it best to let you go.'
This is beautiful to me. Out of respect and true caring
we can give another the place to leave if need be.
Clinging to hard should not be what is needed in love.
It should be given freely.
Blessings,
Kathy

Neville,
You are so welcome. Hope your day is great. Blessings
I have met two old lovers at reunions. I try to talk to them. Funny, how they react cold and indifference. us, who love to write. We make hard days seem less painful with time and distance. I do wonder. Do our old lovers remember us? Thank you my friend for sharing your amazing poetry and your thoughts.

You are right my friend and thank you for reading.
Distance to lovers can but bring its ache and leave behind good times to store away - a medley of tender impressions of acting for love's sake......... and oh so movingly quilled - warmly as always ..........Fay

Thank you my friend.... Neville
This is a gracious & caring way to describe that inevitable process (with some) when distance grows, yet fondness does not shrink! You got it so right! With affection, you delicately present how it can feel like just a wisp of a sensation, but maybe this special someone is asking for space without asking. So we back off. Never quite knowing if it was right to do it. I feel that uncertainty in your words a teensy bit (((SNIPS))) Fondly, Margie

Tender, loving and selfless love. Nicely conveyed Neville. Always best to reflect on the positives and celebrate them with fondness.
