Little Shepherdesses

Little Shepherdesses

A Poem by Neville

Little Shepherdesses

Pray where are they now

my little shepherdesses

pray where might I find them

now they are hiding or gone

...

They are all in the meadow

down there by the dew-pit

a full brace and a half of em

as far as can tell ……………….

...

And pray what are they doing

down there by the dew-pit

are the three of them playing

and with what and with whom

...

Are they brazenly bathing

or just casually lazing

while their flock is a grazing

on lush green meadow grass

...

They be easing out creases

from Sunday best dresses

each one of them covered

In ripe fig sweet caresses ...

...

All perfumed from toes

to the nape of their necks

since discarding their clothes

on them bushes for hanging

...

Oh’ my lord what a sight

for these sore eyes, a smiling

here just biding our time till

They church bells stop clanging

...

My little shepherdesses

all naked they play

down in green meadow

each there away far away

...

Not knowin they’re watched

or do they or don’t they

sharing lips, fingers and tongues

without so much a care or a blush …

Well, you lecherous old voyeur! Are you stalking these little shepherdesses or just monitoring whether they're keeping track of their sheep? You use great sensory description here to get across how delectable the little shepherdesses are! Hope your Halloween was nice . . . I got my first trick-or-treater in 10 years in the wilderness! Oh, how I've waited for someone to write a childlike poem for us old ones! So easy it is to imagine myself a young fellow delighting in that visual feast. I'd crawl through the weeds, don't you know, to get a closer look. The next day, one would have to look close to see the boy in sheep's clothing malingering about those green hills. I surely do love this, Neville.

What breathtakingly sensuous beauty I envision in my mind! ....Some unforgettable words too....ripe fig sweet caresses...bursts with promise...these are nymphs, goddesses at play....at their most tantalizing! What more can a man desire!

I read this poem twice and thought about it even more. I really like the way this was written, very poetic, so much that I got lost many of times, like in a dream with the images. But it all held my attention to the end. Tyfs

Ha, when I read Little Shepherdesses, I smiled and thought only three. This is so much more than a jolly rustic Sunday setting, in warm climes. It's actually funny and I almost fell for the original Petit engraving, thinking Neville's French is crap :)) Yep I was going to Google the engraving until the penny dropped. A little bit of urban slang thrown in to spice it up a bit. lol There is always more than meets the eye. A line that I put in my review of your latest book Victims of Indifference, which I am giving a little plug. Yes, it's a great read. Nice bit of fantasy here Neville. A lot of effort went into these crafted lines. Happy Sunday.
