Himawari - Sunflower

 

Even with his head

turned slightly

to one side and held low

He shone

and brightly so ..

Erect, proud and golden

Taller

than his counterparts

Spilling petals

on the ground

The poppies and the

cornflowers

all bowed and strewn

abundant ..

Not to mention those

violets sown

ever so lightly into 

the violent hedgerow

Somewhere down below ..

"Erect, proud and golden, tall" and that's why they are called "Sunflowers" even when their heads kneel they are still golden and tall turning toward the Sun, I love them because they are both, humble and proud this what I feel about them.
