Searching for Light

 

What we seem to have here, is another old man

feeling his way, while still above ground,

simply searching for answers ..

 

Just another old man, drowning real slow,

in the muddle of what his own life has become

now on show, displayed and revealed ..

 

After all said and done, he’s just another old man

messing with words, searching for light

while still desperate, to find reasons, to die ..

Ain't we all searching for light? This old geezer sounds pretty down to earth in my opinion. Trying to make the best of how things have turned out for him. Messing with words, searching for the light, and of course there is no reason to die. There is every reason to live ain't there. There is a real sadness here Neville.

I am almost always clueless, N. But I will read on anyway, yay! The older I get the more things seem to slip past and the little that I know and have gained (with much difficulty) doesn't really help to keep afloat. As poor old Bartok once said, "you're falling apart, master!" But that is directed more to myself than to the author of this fine piece.

well one old man to another, drowning real slow can be pleasurable by times: gives you a bit of added time to bring some clarity to the senses, maybe enjoy a last claret, before declaring: enough already, I got some fish to fry

If I didn't wonder these things, I'd probably get one or two of the hundred or so things I started, done. 😊
