The pain I feel today

and every day

for that matter ..

Is I fear, absolutely

necessary

to at least remind me

I am alive

while you are gone ..

Yet still,

I wonder if you ever

count the days,

like I count the days ..

And for

the same reasons I do ..

I very much

doubt that you do ..

But of course

you would say you

did though ..

Now having said that,

your lies

rarely had substance ..

You simply

told them because

you had

nothing better to do

at the time ..

When your appetite

for attention

then knew no bounds ..

I have travelled this road more times than i care to admit Nev. I too wonder, does she count the days like I count them...she didn't which took more time than it should have to realize. the line about lies is a real howitzer. enjoyed my visit. hope to be back around soon, though in process of a book and time is not quite as free as i would like

Attention is like hunger, many eat too fast for their own minds. We have an obsession with mirrors, looking at their own appearances every two seconds. But to have someone pay attention to you, even for a little bit of time, is so enjoyable. We are the mirrors others look to and they just don't ever seem to pay attention. It's sad. Wonderful poetry. tyfs

Some just can’t help themselves. they have to be at the centre of all the attention. No shrinking violet was this Dame. You must have loved her a great deal to go along with it and to feel pain even now she has gone.

I counted the days for someone once too. so this poem is relatable in a way. As to attention seekers, look no further than the Duchess of Sussex. Now she is the real deal. Me. me, me and how she plays the victim with sprinkles on top.

You took me to many places with these lines Neville and that is why I love your poetry. Thank you my friend.

That ending hits the nail on the head! unfortunately, some people will use everything even the sincerity of others to fill their ego and satisfied their shallow emptiness inside, without even care the slightest about others feelings.
