Runs deep in my veins

Contaminating the blood

Tainting my heart

Pumping

Faster through me

With every passing second

With roots like a tree

I will it away

But I am not strong enough

I am only human

And boy these times are rough

I need you with me

But alas, this can not be

The time you spend with others

Slowly torments me

I am stuck in this cage

Made from my own faults

Ripping us apart

I am the burn, you are the salt
