Ha this just transported me to a memory of being a kid and stepping on a bees nest i was not the swiftest young man but I could of outran Jesse Owens that day :) It was one of those rare days nobody was home and i remember pulling off all of the dead bees from my clothes and pulling out all of the stingers with my mothers tweezers and jumping into the bathtub! The yard had its revenge on me that day Nev

I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask, I've been on mental constipation all week and this is not getting through to me, though I feel it is meant to be humorous. A little help?

It was still enjoyably mindbaffling to read. Even if that was due to my own ignorance .

I've never seen a badger, but I've read they're related to the ferret, which make pretty cool pets. I have a tendency to stay away from bees, for I fear I'm allergic to them, besides, they really make me nervous with all that buzzing. Maintaining a yard is hard work in any capacity. My hats off to you, Nev...I'll be in my lounge chair, sipping my Margarita! ; )

An apt reason to get reading the bold male suggests, instead of getting a hold on the diggers and swarmers - - my smile lingers at the thought of the scene - - - we have similar troubles here but with wasps and boy have I been stung.................

Good one, Neville. I've given up on the perfect lawn...A rabbit has built a den under the fence...back door in front of my garden. No badgers...but do get skunks...dog finds them fascinating...me, bathing dog at 3:00 a.m. not so much.
Creeping Charlie has pretty much taken over front lawn...oh well, at least its green.

all animals have their reason for existence, but it seems some are just here to destroy our perfect lawns...
I would love to see what kind of revenge the lawn brings upon those badgers and bees.

and there was me putting money on you of all people mentioning Richard Brautigan :)
Reminds me of a beautiful house and garden I saw from the river. The lawn was to die for, in perfect lush green condition. A week later it was covered in mole hills. We are reminded here that nature will do what it wants to do. Not much fun if you are a keen gardener. The mole hills took quite some time to sort out as well. Good luck in your back yard.
