Felt Quietly

Felt Quietly

A Poem by Neville
"

This is not rude...

"

Felt Quietly

The rain on my thatch

Is more of a feel these days

And less of a noise

I never thought it was rude Nev. I was just wondering why you just don't buy a hat... Or maybe you do live in a cottage and... No... No matter what I say, the double entendre pops up. 😀
I do love the idea of the sound or feel of rain on a thatched roof though. Comforting, as long as your safe under the roof and not locked out in the rain.

I feel it's about imagination, while You are imagining or meditating it's about what You feel, no noise or sound will interrupt You when You are in total surrender of peace and tranquillity.

my thoughts and feelings precisely.. thank you for sharing them back to me...
Sorry but the word "thatch" bumps my imagination right into the gutter. Don't talk to me about being nice *wink! wink!* Rain on my snatch has ALWAYS been more of a feeling (((DROPS))) Fondly Margie

thank you dear Kesch
My innocent mind wasn’t seeing anything untoward...until you introduced the idea, ha ha. Well, we all have to learn these things somewhere.

Do you have a thatched roof, Neville? If so I’m furiously jealous. I don’t think they exist in America, and I’ve always wanted one. I have no idea what it sounds like to be holed up in a thatched cottage in a rainstorm. I imagine that the thick thatch would muffle the rain. Maybe it sounds like a waterfall or running stream. Now I’m very curious.

We had a tin roof when my kids were babies. A little rain was lovely, but a heavy one was like a bucket of water filled with pebbles being dumped out over an extended period. So, if anyone was sleeping, they wouldn’t be for long.

Anyway, I’ve rambled a lot and not said much about your poem at all. Sorry. I thought it was a nice slow ramble. Like a moment of peace by a fire in a favorite chair.

the rain inside always has more of a feel than a sound, but either way...it is like tears on the heart.

I do know you are talking about a thatched roof here , and with all the recent rainfall maybe it has left you feeling a bit gloomy. I actually like the sound of rainfall. Took special notice of your author's note. The sun has just come out here. Hope it shines on you and yours.
