Mistress of Sky

Mistress of Sky

A Poem by Neville

Mistress of Sky

She is like a baby bird

All eyes and feathered

Wisps of gold

Always hungry

And for the moment

My word vulnerable

Soon tho she will learn

To fly and then

Be gone like an eagle

Only to become

Mistress of sky and

Dance upon thermals

Like scented wood smoke

Rising cloudy and curious

A silver edged silhouette

Higher than mountains

Flawed but still glorious

A storm in a teacup chipped

Your way with words always leave me wanting more peeps into hidden meanings my friend..... she, the mistress of sky would be in my eyes a young growing female who however vulnerable will find her wings and make her glorious way upwards to freedom.............. or would it be the feathered kind you verse so well here Nev.......... ? - - which or whoever this was a very good read........... WOWZA! GaGOWZA! This is top-notch & the best I've seen from you! I was marveling on two main streams . . . first, it's such an authentic imaginative way to portray how it can be with independent people that do not want to settle into the typical routines of relationship . . . and second, your popping use of language & imagery, so evocative of the complex feelings you suggest! This is awesome! (((STUNS))) Fondly, Margie

Nev its not often I can see this so plainly but your write is evolving to something quite extraordinary lately. I'm not sure if this is a person of whom you refer or if this is about a poem you've sent into the air to take flight... doesn't matter cause if its an offspring or your words from your nurtures makings they both were reconstructed from your marks! the most beautiful teacups are the scarred ones in my book any day

this guy here could not wish for a more encouraging and heartwarming visit.. cheers Robert
Such a delightful write. Letting those fledging go is both thrilled and terrifying. But few things are both so beautiful and powerful as seeing someone soar.

Why thank you kindly my friend... and All Good Things to you.... Neville
This is truly beautiful work Neville and on reading it I saw my own daughter. Premature and vulnerable, growing into a young woman with her red gold hair lengthy and lovely. Flawed, vulnerable, precious and without doubt a storm in a well chipped teacup. Up there with your best work.

hmmmmmm hard to hold on to that one Nev ... reads like one of my daughters ;) so vulnerable and needy and then .... pow! right in the kisser .. she is just that "storm in a chipped tea cup" .. great line sir! of course this might be a soul mate, lover or even a friend .. but i am pretty sure its about me daughter.. actually both of them ... one just took a bit longer than the other ;)

at first I thought it was about a baby Angel, but then I saw the phoenix that will rise from her mistakes to grow and glow higher, she accepts her self as she is and keep on learning, from a girl into a grownup strong woman, somehow I feel this for a daughter, and if not this is perfect to read for her, beauuutiful and how beauuuutiful is "Mistress of Sky" title my dear N~

I will have mine in a chipped Cup where
Beauty once danced with the Beast who
discovered Tenderness from a Lady named
Belle who knew that Love is the Sunlight that falls
upon the devotion bestowed. truly, Pat

I liked the energy and the drive in the words Neville. The free birds must know open sky and freedom. Wonderful use of words.
