Sun Drops

Sun Drops

A Poem by Neville
"

... I swear, I saw it so..

"

Sun Drops

as she dropped

from the sky

.... like a single

piece of golden

candy ...

the moon white

................ as

an empty page

... and

honeycombed

.... smiled down

... upon

the recently

... vacated stage

she left behind

though oh'

so very shyly ..

A random flick through your archives and I landed on a sunset. Couldn't have found a more visual write if I tried. I love the description here and I was reminded of the centre of a crunchie bar and that honeycomb texture. Do they even exist now? Wishing you many more glorious sunsets Neville in your new home.

Nobody can paint such an ephemeral profile as you do . . . it's like this person being described is barely there, details sketchy & barely showing thru the veil . . . could it be the veil between life & death? Perfect for the way our feeble minds hang onto someone as they increasingly disappear (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Wow. Very delightful imagery of the moon dear sir! Made me buzz with bliss as I read this poem. She's still stunning in her emptiness. Loved this read!

Ah - - a smile of nostalgia as the time when I saw the sun drop so drastic to let Luna on stage seems only a moonbeam away -- and you capture it perfectly with this short-line linguistic gem - - loud applause for the scene your phrases conjoured for me Nev. - love this read to bits.

how extraordinarily bloomin kind dear Fay, thank you so much :)
The moon has always been elusive, ghostly, veiled and shy. I always think of the moon as a her. The sun on the other hand I think of as a man. Now if the sun has a feminine side, I would say she is a brazen harlot who likes to take centre stage particularly at sunrise or sunset. Now where did that all come from? This is very visual. I have seen the sun literally drop below the horizon and amazing it was too. Reminds me of Mediterranean sunsets and how utterly spectacular they can be Neville.
