Musings

Musings

A Poem by Nianque
"

I'm just playing with words. This is my first work. I haven't written in a loooonnnngggg time !

"

Sitting down wondering about the day past

I grab a pencil

wishing I could capture all my thoughts

rushing and whizzing by

fast as water that's out to sea

sharp as rocks piercing thru white foam

deadly as lava erupting from within

soft as rose petals whispering their secrets

teasing as dewdrops that disappear

with the sun rising

powerful as lighting striking

the already battered earth

noisy as birds twittering

silent as dark forest shadows

These are my musings

uncontrollable

unnoticeable

trapped inside my head

This is exactly how I feel when I sit down and write, but I don't think I could express it in such a beautiful and simplistic form that you could.

I also love your use of descriptions in this poem. I feel as if it adds to the emotions most writers feel when they sit down and begin to write their muse.

I think the last stanza is unnecessary. You've already said this in the first three lines. Other than that, I think it's a wonderful piece. It's clear in description and brings the reader in to feel the swimming of thoughts going round the mind. Nice work.

That's probably the best and worst part of writing! On one hand it's a blessing that our imaginations run so wild, like we're constantly living in a dream, on the other hand we seem to never be able to stop long enough to capture every part of it. I always leave some strong emotion out and it's so frustrating!
lol nice poem though!

This poem welcomes me to your mind and imagination. I love this, I think it's such a beautiful write. I simply adore this line and can never get over it "soft as rose petals whispering their secrets" it gives me imagery straight away. I look forward to more of your writes

The funny thing is that I can so relate to this write but never could express it so well in poetry. So many thoughts, feelings and emotions wishing around inside, all speaking to me at once and I can't focus on just one. I call this writers block. Your poem is beautiful in it's simplicity and truth.

I feel you should listen to comments it is obvious that you can write, and I am glad your writing again, I remember your earlier work on here too.

I really enjoyed this. The contradiction really strengthens the power of our thoughts. Awesome write.
