In This generation

The world we live in has changed,

Live in a generation I do not fit in,

In a generation where everything in this society is a norm,

in a generation where I am being tested for who I am,

in a generation where media impacts who we are,

in a generation where my beliefs are questioned,

in a generation where I am challenged by those that contradict what I believe in,

in a generation where hate and racism is a trend,

in a generation where my skin colour validates my intelligence,

in a generation where media wants us to look a certain way,

in generation where young people have great ideas, but no voice,

in a generation where we are stereotyped negatively, then questioned on why we are how we are!

In a generation were media sets our minds on what we should look like and act

In a generation where we are compared to those before us, that lacked today's motivations,

Continuously hearing ‘what is wrong with today’s generation’?’

In a generation where we are judged for what they hear, not what they see,

Instead of insulting us for being weak, help us tweak our imperfections,

Inspire us to better ourselves, push us to our limits,

Do not criticize or belittle our intelligence and knowledge

let us make the change, let us be that change.
