Insight To How A Dog Lives

Insight To How A Dog Lives

A Poem by Nicolas Jao

A chanso poem.

How many times I have to say,
It doesn’t get through their thick skulls,

We have better lives everyday
And human ones are very dull

We sleep all day and sleep all night

I just don’t see them doing that
We chew, we run, we bark, we bite

And we enjoy chasing a cat

We experience the awesome joy
Of our good owner coming home

Give us a toy and say, “Good boy!”

Then play a bit, then let us roam

We always eat, sleep, play, repeat
We don’t have school because we’re cool

Don’t need to shower, or brush teeth,

everyday. It’s because we rule

No matter what we are happy

Lick others, get away with it

Cuddle when owners get sappy

And we really don’t mind one bit

But I give credit where it’s due
The humans have much better food!

It's the cliche story. I've been writing since I was six, and it's a passion. I like to read, listen to music, watch the NBA, learn science and programming, and eat food. My favourite book is The Hous.. more..
