Time is of the Essence

Time is of the Essence

A Poem by NightMoves

The record of a lonesome soul

Time is of the essence
In this never-ending life.
Is it not time
For me to find my wife?

As I reflect from those around me,
It seems as if most are taken.
No relief for my heart,
Which pain has overtaken.

With the consistent pressure
To find someone to be with.
The propaganda and reminders that
Finding "the right one" is a myth.

Divorce and abortion is seen as normal.
How can one live this way?
These are my deterrents to even try.
People's minds swoosh and sway.

I need dedication, love, and persistency
To fill this heart of mine.
Someone to stay true and trust,
A partnership so divine.

This delicacy of a thing
Is said to not be true.
I know with determination and work
Two hearts can make it through.

To this I must say adieu.
One day we will surely meet.
At the bar, the store, anywhere.
If you see me just pull up a seat.

Very sad but true. Society, family members often put much pressure on individuals to accomplish certain "life milestones" at certain times. Very beautiful work. All the luck to you.
