Butterfly Effect

Butterfly Effect

A Poem by NightMoves

This is a poem I wrote for a very special someone, which I made an interactive presentation on python. (12/25/2017)

Born into this life with a purpose,
A caterpillar grows and forms.
Living amongst each other.
What they turn into depends on their norms.

Digging deep into the ground, hiding from life,
This caterpillar hides into the gloom.
It has a secret to keep.
This is a moth to be assumed.

Dark, dismal, and seen as a pest.
Nothing to do, but wander in the night.
Fluttering and seeking
A faint glimpse of light.

There's another path for caterpillars to take.
Living and growing under the clear blue sky.
Striving with goal in sight.
In due time, formation to a butterfly.

Colors, so beautiful and unique.
Takes the beholder by surprise.
Intelligence is an understatement.
Tricks its predators by disguise.

Soaring through the garden of purple.
Glorious and divine grace.
Wind flowing between its wings.
In my heart, it has a place.

To describe such a beauty would not be right,
As something dear shines brighter than this.
Thine eyes shine through the night.
And your smile brings a feeling of bliss.

Laughter of joy fills the air,
Smile so dear to the heart.
Words spoken so careful and kind,
Coming from a woman so smart.

Strong willed with goal in mind.
Morals so rare and unique.
I appreciate the values you hold,
Nothing about you I would tweak.

Characteristics of such draws eyes near.
Colors of purple and yellow.
Blessed was the day that our eyes met.
Lucky was this fellow.

Thankful for the day you came into my life.
Who knew we would meet the way that we had?
Out of nowhere like a flash of light,
For this I am glad.

Life can be grim and gloomy like the moth.
Bottled emotions and strayed away.
Twas my approach to life before,
But to this I say not today.

For today I have reason to shine and glow.
A woman with purpose as such.
Reminds me of the creature that flutters.
Graceful with a tender touch.

Soul to be held and nurtured.
Heart beating in rhythm and rhyme.
Taking this opportunity for granted,
Would be a crime.

Thus, I ask one simple favor.
To take me for what I am,
Mend this broken soul.
Be with me in my future plan.
