A Semi-Memoir

A Semi-Memoir

A Poem by Nima.Hope

Dedicated to the beloved.

You may wanna know me more
I will tell you my story for sure
There is so much for me to say
It all began in May
But long story short
I tried to make an effort
To improve myself at first
to make love to the world with thirst
sadly the world gives us
only a slap in the face
Life appears to us just like a chase
chasing in a race
to see who will reach the first
Nobody knows where are they going
Nobody thinks why are they vowing
Stress, stress and stress
to not be the one who makes money less
Competing in foolish games
full of shames
I was born in May
That time life wasn't gray
There was hope and wish in life
There was  a reason for us to pray
As I grew old I saw that
How much loser we are
The rest of the story is fun
It is a new path to run
I ran to use the time
The time that in a jiffy
was gone
I ran so fast to defend
the slap of the world
The first one woke me up
The rest hurt me much
I enjoy the wait for tomorrow
I enjoy avoiding sorrow
I did the same as anyone
I loved life like no one
but now when I look at it
The love and kindness
is the work done.

love and kindness mean so much more than achievement.
similar to "I could not stop for death" by Emily Dickinson...we lead such hurried lives sometimes we don't even have time to die...
but better to slow down, savor life and savor those around us.
