i wish for the touch of a

soft hand upon my cheek and

the assurance of that which

i cannot give to myself the

assurance that when the light dims

and the deepness begins to set in

i will not be alone

 

i wish for a strong embrace

that leaves no doubt about

the future of my heart and

provides an inner warmth

that holds me captivated in

its power

hope to uncurl the hollow

ball of my soul and

reignite the childlike

joy i once possessed

show me that all is

not lost in the trials
