A raindrop

A raindrop

A Poem by Elli
"

Enjoy.

A Raindrop

A raindrop fell into my scarred hand.
After the long fall;

It was still.

It felt the scar.
I kept it still, Scared of letting it slip between my fingers.
Because it numbed the scar.
And if it fell and dried up; It would be okay.
But I would fall too

and cut my hand again.

Elli, this poem spoke to me. I perceived your raindrop as a lover, it healed (or attempted to) what had come before. It cleansed the wound left by the departed and allowed for a change of perspective to take place.

Although there is sadness in your poem, there is also hope. One must become injured (whether this be on an emotional or a physical level) to realise what they had and most importantly what they are able to overcome. If we can recover from any kind of trauma then this makes us stronger.

Best wishes,
Eliza
