Future

Future

A Poem by Nomo

If I wrote my future
What would I put in it
Would I put in love
Would I put in fun
Would I put in good things
What if someone else wrote my future?
How would they write it?
Would my future be like a Stephen King book?
Or something like a fairytale?

If it's like a Stephen King book, donate it to Goodwill quickly.

Hmmmm, donate "my future" to goodwill? never thought of that!
You know when I was six I can remember telling myself than in another six years I would be twelve a big girl. Couldn't wait to grow up. The time goes too fast Nomo. Slow down and live in the now. The future will take care of itself:) Don't even think about it :)

As an old person myself, your poem makes me remember how simple & idealistic we can be in our youth . . . a very good thing & sadly missing from many old fogey's mindsets. Later on, the mind-boggling nature of life, the way it hits us with tsunamis of good & bad, it pretty much keeps us off-balance the whole time so we're hardly thinking about the future, but just trying to negotiate the present moment. And isn't that what they all say we should do? Live in the present moment! *wink! wink!* Thank you for the imagination ramble (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
